Killing Off Our Country's Father

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”
― George Orwell, 1984
The America haters are at it again. The San Francisco Board of Education has voted to paint over a 600 feet mural depicting the life or President George Washington. The Fresco painting, painted on the walls of George Washington High School as part of the Depression era's Writers and Artists program from the 1930's.
The school board decided that minority students suffered from having to walk past that historic mural every day. So they have budgeted $600,000 dollars to paint over the offending Washington.
No word on the new name of the high school after Washington's name is removed. Perhaps Marxist mass murderer Che Guevara or even Colin Kaepernick, freshly victorious at removing the American flag from athletic shoes.

The mural paint over might be a scene of 30 million illegal Central and South Americans migrating north for a state or federal benefit check.
Ironically the $600,000 for the mural paint over will come from an environmental fund that had been targeted to clean up the city's drug needle and human shit piles that plagued the city.
"The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history."

Let's End Corporate Welfare

So Nike fell on its corporate knees, gave Colin Kaepernick a wonderful blow job, then caved in to "Spastic Colon's" opposition to making a shoe with the Betsy Ross flag adorned on the heel.  Kaepernick says that flag only perpetuates and honors slave owning founders and Nike fell in line, even they participate in their own slavery in those overseas sweatshops.

Nike is not the first corporation to take a stance on social and politics issues.  The number is now legion as one corporate entity after another pimps homosexuality, racial mongreling, open borders, and any number of a hundred national controversies.  You cannot read a print ad, or turn on the television set these days and not find corporations sucking up to folks who they have determined are their prime target consumer audience.

Yes, it gets a bit sickening.....especially if your own personal social or political views are in direct conflict with that corporate pimping.    But let's be big here.  Let's be tolerant.  Let's allow Coca Cola and Budweiser to push open borders.  Let's allow Bank of America to cease banking services to immigrant detention centers and Homeland Security.  After all, it's a free country, right?

But let's exercise our own particular freedoms while we're at it.  If you are opposed to the politics of a corporation, you have as much obligation as in the voting booth...to boycott the products and services of those companies.  Why in the world would you continue to succor entities that are in direct conflict with your own personal beliefs?

And while we're at it, let's cease and desist from paying out our tax dollars for corporate welfare.  Let's stop giving Apple, and Google, and many others offers of free land for establishing a factory, a decade of tax breaks and incentives.  Let's stop allowing our Congress to hand out $100 billion a year in tax credits to companies who obviously don't need it, whether it be companies we admire, or companies we detest.

I stopped buying Nike apparel about five years ago.......just about the time Spastic Colin Kaepernick took a Nike adorned knee when the Star Spangled Banner began to be sung.  Bank fo America lost me a decade ago when that banking giant began serving as the chief financial conduit for exporting American dollars to Mexico...and allowing illegals to have bank accounts.  And if Bank of America does not want to play by fair trade rules in banning services for Homeland Security, let's remove Bank of America from the U.S. Treasury's trade window and let em go find a money deal that will loan them money at less than one percent...even as they gouge their customers with 20 percent Visa card interest.

Do I hold out much hope that consumers will stand up for their own rights?  Nah.  Nor do I expect Congress to eliminate corporate welfare.  But folks should at least know that they are being screwed royally, without a dab of Vaseline.  Let them at least know they have a choice.

It's all sad.  Damned Sad.

No Gold Toilets Today....Please

Don't want to join the Trump haters and pick a nit about Trump's capitol 4th of July celebration but I'm a little leery about tanks rolling down the Capitol Mall. It just rings too much like the Russians, rolling their tanks through Moscow, the infantry following along in goose step.

We don't need that kind of "let me show you my muscle" stuff here in America. I'll withhold final judgement until I see how the event unfolds, but given that Trump had a hand in this I fear it will be a bit garish....kinda like Trump's golden toilets and shower fixtures.
While I believe that every American ought to take a break from burgers and beer and fireworks, to consider the meaning of the holiday, I'm not sure we need this kind of display. Heard Trump is even going to make a speech at the Lincoln Memorial. If it's anything like Trump's other speeches I don't expect to have any chill bumps running up and down my arms.

My favorite celebration of the 4th of July is The Capitol 4th that is staged on the mall every year....a sweet rendition of God Bless America, some spectacular fireworks, and rousing renditions of John Phillip Souza marches.

No one should need gold toilets to show people they're rich. No great military needs a "show your muscle" display...we've already done that in war, which is when it really counted. Trump, a Vietnam War draft dodger, has always had this weird selective fetish regarding the military.......attacking real heroes who didn't agree with him, praising most those who fall in goose step with his politics. That's not who we are. That old Democrat Harry Truman was as courageous at the Argonne Forest as Republican Teddy Roosevelt charging up San Juan Hill.

Let's not use our most patriotic holiday to define our differences. Instead, let's celebrate the diversity of opinion that sustained our Republic for more than two hundred years.

And no gold toilets.

Medical Mirages

So last night I've got the TV tuned to one of those retro channels. At commercial break we see the beginnings of a desert sunrise. The skies are still purple as the camera pans to the rather beaten down old rural farmhouse.

As the lights come on in the house we see a Hispanic family moving about, then see their young son loaded into the ancient pickup.......en route this morning for a day of cancer treatment at the Mayo Clinic.

And I start to laugh out loud.

No way can this poor family afford medical treatment at the Mayo Clinic. Unless one has a "Cadillac Medical Plan" the Mayo Clinic will turn you away at the door. That is also true for Cancer Centers of America, a profitable medical firm that also produces heart touching cancer commercials.

Neither of these medical centers will accept Medicaid or Medicare. If you want holistic and focused cancer care you better be extremely wealthy....be a member of an elite government bureaucracy, or have won the Powerball Lottery.

I propose both Mayo and Cancer Centers of America start practicing a little truth in advertising. For every smiling face, happy to see their cancer in remission, let's start seeing the front desk bureaucrat, who takes one look at your Medicare or Medicaid Card (even if you have an Advantage Plan), and points to the front door while handing you a map identifying the nearest county hospital.

I'm sorry but this hypocrisy makes me gag. We all know that our health care system is largely money driven. Those teams of cancer doctors, all hovering around you, do so after taking a good look at your bank account.

Joe, We Hardly Knew Ya (Or Maybe Too Well)

Thursday night the knives were out late, glistening brightly as the theater lights came on in Harkens theaters over on the east side.

Democrats were out in full force as Harkens hosted showings of last night's Democratic Presidential debates. After it was all over Kamala Harris's support rose, as did the gay mayor from "Notre Dame-ville".

Only one thing was certain. Liberals squirmed in their seats, then threw Joe Biden off the bus last night. Joe should have known better than to enter this race. Hell, even I knew Joe ought to stay home and polish up his shotguns. In the new Democratic party anyone with a history is subject to having a cross slapped over your shoulder, to haul up Calvary Hill.

In Joe's case it was his position against mandatory busing back in the early 70's. Poor Joe tried to defend himself but Kamala Harris donned a metaphorical schoolgirl plaid skirt and white blouse and, in little girl voice, declared her virginal bus ride through Oakland in that long ago era. From then on it was all over.

In these Democratic primaries it is best if you have no history at all. It is ideal if you have accomplished nothing and never have taken a stand on anything. Anything a candidate did prior to "the new morality" is subject for persecution

Hey, if it wasn't busing it would have been something else...most probably a Biden gaffe and stumble, just as he did in two previous runs for President. (Please notice that Barack Hussein has not said one word in support of his monkey grinder VP for eight years....."you're on your own, Joe!")

The consensus among those Harkins Theater Democrats was that Kamala Harris played the race card brilliantly and the gays in attendance thought Pete "Butt-Gig" was kinda cute, awarding him the 2nd place ribbon.

Bye Joe. You, the mad hatter that you are, were the least crazy on the stage last night....and crazy is what the Dems are shooting for this year.

It seems to me that the only things the Dems will accept these days is banging old men like erstwhile Frisco Mayor Willie Brown to get to the top (as Kamala did), or being at the top of the list for first gay President. Ah, if Petey Butt-Gig were only Black they could get a "twofer".

Yikes!
