I've seen tragic stories where the father passed down some pretty sorry lessons.

And I've always been envious of those who speak so highly of their father...lucky people.A Modest Scriblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07698092153994590787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3360697570873499457.post-80742759061399928472015-01-06T08:20:16.729-07:002015-01-06T08:20:16.729-07:00Thanks for the kind words, Jerry. Ironic that you say that because I always look at my own kids and feel sorry that he didn't have the chance to share them. They would have given him lots of chances to feel proud.A Modest Scriblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07698092153994590787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3360697570873499457.post-23167661213057600732015-01-06T08:13:28.776-07:002015-01-06T08:13:28.776-07:00Wow! We till this day, draw on her wisdom, leaving profound life's lessons to us for passing on to our kids. It's amazing how much like her we are and how little of our Father. Sounds like it's a story told many times over. Thanks for the reminder.Franknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3360697570873499457.post-42789174334514370812015-01-06T07:38:18.019-07:002015-01-06T07:38:18.019-07:00You did warn me that this blog post today would ha...You did warn me that this blog post today would have more anger in it but I see more of an attempt at understanding than anger. Yes, "lucky" you to have such a great mom but undoubtedly more to do with hard work and love of family than luck. I am sorry about your dad, more for him actually, you turned out pretty well, again that hard work element that is a part of you. and, from your mother a love of family.Jerry Carlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10024087888949143035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3360697570873499457.post-10048091184555261152015-01-06T03:26:10.054-07:002015-01-06T03:26:10.054-07:00Weren't we lucky, Brian?Weren't we lucky, Brian?A Modest Scriblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07698092153994590787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3360697570873499457.post-24489515274175523652015-01-06T03:11:52.376-07:002015-01-06T03:11:52.376-07:00Our mothers would seem to be ladies cut from the s...Our mothers would seem to be ladies cut from the same cloth in many respects.
